This is my first time editing HD footage and i think my setting are all wrong
Its an older version of FC, and im not sure what im doing in that department
Any help would be appriciated

As Ben suggested, can you take a screen shot of what you're talking about and share it with us here? If we can see what you're talking about, we might be able to provide a more informed answer.

Also, provide as many details as you can. Where did the footage come from (what was it shot on?) Is it 1920 x 1080 or 1280 x 720? What's the frame rate?
