Kerned type in video exports as un-kerned!?
I've tried the basic fixes such as trashed prefs, deleting render files on both event and project. Not sure what else I can try. Anyone ever had this?
I'm using a iMac 3.4GHz on 10.8.2 with FCP X 10.0.7
The type layer is just the basic type from FCP X.

UPDATE: A complete reinstall has made no improvement. I am stumped and aggravated.

I'd delete pref files and all render files.
When you did your reinstall, did you run "FCS Remover" first?

I did another full reinstall after using FCS Remover. The problem is still there.
I made a new project and new event just to try that and still the kerning is gone on export!
This time I just used the basic type clip with helvetica. Here are two more images of "before in FCP X" and after exporting a master file (or any file for that matter) opened in QT. This happens with any type of any kind!

I'm not alone! Thanks. I hope we figure this out soon. My work has come to a complete halt right now. My only option is to make all my type in PS first. What a PITA.
UPDATE: This is happening on my laptop too! I made a new event and project added a basic type clip, kerned it in obvious ways to see a huge difference, then after exporting/sharing it to a master file the type is not kerned at all! I'm starting to think I found a real glitch.
Now, if I put another line or two of type in there and adjust the line spacing or any other parameter the kern holds and does NOT "un-kern" itself on export. It's only when there is one line of type kerned out without touching any other parameters.

Right now my work around is to simply change the line or baseline by 1 and it then it works fine. It's only when I only adjust kerning that it doesn't hold on export. I can also quit FCP X and open the project up and the kerning is gone again.

At my users group meeting Wed night I had the folks who brought their laptops try this out, no one had this problem, everyone was on 10.0.7. Very odd, I'm stumped.
