First start with a million dollar budget... Ok, on a more practical level, other than the pricy helicopter shots the only thing that really sets this apart are the growing & shrinking picture in picture effects which seem to end up in a predesigned little luminous grid. Not difficult in FCPX, I don't think you even need motion for it. You might want to design your grid in Photoshop &
animate its entrance
, then you're going to bring your different video images in as layers by keyframing them & resizing them over time into their places. You can bring them in on an angle with their plane distorted perspective-wise.
The dynamism of this opening sequence is due mostly to the rapid pacing & exciting music, featuring a wide variety of clips at break-neck speed. When I mention the big budget, it's not just for the helicopter but some expensive lens variations too. But that fisheye shot of the turbine can be faked in post with a plug-in or distortion effect, the GoPro type shot at the end on the roof of the car with flashing lights isn't difficult either. It's all doable.
I'm hoping my post on Title Sequences gets moved to Off Topic so we can have a regular discussion ongoing for this vital part of filmmaking.
