Text Effect

I've been trying to create different text effects, but have been having problems getting to the results I'd like or finding the effects online, wether it be on FCPX or Motion.

Does anyone know how to create something similar to this, the look of the text and the reflection?

You have to use Motion. Make the Group a 3D Group, then create a black rectangle, angle it as your floor, turn on its reflection parameters. Take a look at this template I made. Open it in Motion and examine how I did the reflection. You'll do the same thing for your text.

I can't figure out how to just effect the reflection and not the original text. I want to lower the opacity among other things without effecting the top, but haven't been able to. Do you have any suggestions?

Adjust the reflection with the Reflection parameters of your floor rectangle. Don't adjust the text itself.
