Import in FCP X was created by MacBookFan
Hi, last week I bought FCP X and now I am studying the book by Diana Weynand. I'm totally new to FCP X and to this forum as well. I hope you people can help me. I've connected my Canon HFS 20 to my MacBook. In order to import stuff from the camera, I created a new event > Import media. Then I get the Media Import window. It recognizes the Canon camera and on to the right of where it says Canon there's a wheel spinning. But the wheel keeps on spinning. I'm waiting for half an hour now. Am I doing something wrong? Hope to hear from you soon.
Thank you very much for your help!!!

Does the card in your camera mount onto the Desktop like a hard drive?
Do you have the "Second Edition" of the book (look at the cover)?

Hi BenB, Thank you for your very quick reply. I'm very sorry. I think was too impatient. After a long while the clips showed in the Media Import window. By the way: I bought the first edition of Diana Wynands book. There are some small differences. Like a few icons that changed: the book speaks of Camera import where the book calls it Media import. Until now no big differences. Maybe I should have bought the 2nd edition but that was only in pre order at Peachpit.
It was my first post and I already like this forum very much as people really try to help each other. I got some very swift answers.
Thank you!
Have a good weekend.
