Multiple Scopes View

I just accidentally stumbled across something. I have my "Event Viewer" and "Project Viewer" both displayed on a 4x3 secondary monitor. With the scopes always open below both, the 4x3 display gives excellent room for all on there.
But here's the thing, I finished off an edit and stated colour grading yesterday. I had nothing selected in the event, closed down the computer and started again this morning.
When I opened up I am getting the same (selected) clip in both viewers and I can set one scope for Luma and one for RGB parade etc.
I done a few tests and I can consistently have event clips loaded into the event viewer, deselect all clips, restart FCPX and I get this situation.
I'm working on an FCPX grading utility at the moment, and this might mean something. If anyone can try this and confirm if it is consistent for them on dual/single monitor systems etc. it would be great.
