Cannot share my projects

I'm having a lot of trouble with final cut pro X. Firstly it crashes about once every 15 minutes which I'm fine with as I can force quit, unplug my external hard drive, plug it back in and restart final cut and all is back to normal. I only tell you this in case you think it might be related to my real problem.

I cannot share my completed project. The project is stored on my external hard drive and when I select to share it either on youtube, Facebook, apple device, it loads to a certain point between 5% - 50% and then just stops.

It worked yesterday when I did it but I've made a couple of minor changes to the project and now it just wont do it.

It will however, and quite mysteriously, share the project on to a dvd which then plays perfectly. I'm not sure what has happened but can anyone help with this please as I've interviewed quite a well known sportsman and he's wondering where the video is.

Try deleting all related Project and Event "RENDER" files. The try deleting pref files. Get the free "Preference Manager" from Digital Rebellion (dot com) to trash FCPX pref files. Then move FCPX from the Applications folder to the Trash, launch App Store, Purchases section, click Install for FCPX. See if any of those help.

Sorry, forgot to type in the word "render". My bad.

1st thing I’d do is delete all render files. It seems fcpx 10.0.7 is plagued with render issues and I’ve had many projects stall on a render/export at a certain point.
What I do is change a certain parameter that you wouldn’t notice and force a re-render, this will usually force fcpx to continue the render/export past that point.

Now this is only really referring to if fpcx gets hung up at exactly the same spot during the export/render process.

What resolution are you trying to share to YouTube or Facebook? Also how long is your timeline?

How do I delete render files? Sorry I'm a newbie to all of this.

My time line length varies but whatever the length it always stops at the same point.

Okay I've figured out how to delete render files now. I'll let you know if this helps.
