I shot some interviews with in a small conference room and my LED key light (Ephoto 900 dimmable) was close to the subject as well as the camera. I'm guessing that was what cause the flicker (if that's the right term) on the left side of the screen. Any ideas about this - and possible ways to correct for it?

Maybe you could ad shape mask to this area, try darker color or diffuse. It seems to that this is the LED light that cause this. No direct cure in FCPX

I'll give that a try, but my client is cool with this as is. It was a crazy day and it's for internal use. I just wondered if anyone else had run across this. I won't do it again, in any case. thx

You could change the shutter speed to avoid this. I'm assuming the LED lights were only on that section of wall, and didn't light up anything else in the image, correct?

Double the clip on top of itself. Mask out that section, fill it with a solid similar color. He doesn't move that much, so with something like Slice X, it should be easy.

Was there any sort of pattern on that wall we don't see clearly?
