Installation at a school - how can I was created by garters
FCPX - I have bought a second copy for use with students at school.
FCPX won't download on the school's new imac. (It could be the school domain's firewall), but it gives an error message after about 2 seconds.
How can I download it from the App store at my home/office on a MacPro (which already has FCPX installed)?
And then if I can download it, what is the next process for installation on the imac?
regards
Wayne

What's the error message?
Copy it from your home machine and take it to school on a jump drive. Put it in the Apps folder, open it, and run download additional content.

Yeah, you'd have to log in with your personal account for the App Store/iTunes on the school iMac, something I'd be hesitant to do. What Tom says works.

Yes but I don't want it linked to my personal account. I want it linked to the school App store/itunes account. I assume it somehow associates itself to the account which downloaded it.
Am I correct in thinking this? I don't want to end up with an installation on the school computer that is associated with me personally.
Maybe I should just pick up the imac and take it somewhere to an internet connection off the Windows domain and hence away from the school firewall.

The last paragraph may be your safest bet.
