NeatVideo vs Finisher?
www.crumplepop.com/finisher-plugin/
How is it compared to NeatVideo?

NeatVideo is a noise reduction filter. Finisher doesn't claim that.

LOL
Damn. I wish I could say the same thing. Filming in dark places without being able to use lights gives us lots of samples to work with
I haven't used finisher but I've used Neat Video a LOT with FCP7 and Premiere Pro. As soon as Apple fix the bug I will be installing Neat video for FCPX without hesitation.
Like anything, it's not perfect, but used wisely (which means don't over do it!) it can save your a$$.
But, NeatVideo is NOT a sharpener and it doesn't look like Finisher is a Noise Reduction program.
So comparing them.... hmmm... they aren't even the same thing.

Of course, they're easy to shoot. Find a dark place and crank the ISO / Gain.

It is Mardi Gras here in New Orleans and southeast LA, so nothing much gets done until Wednesday or Thursday any how. I'm working through the holidays this year, so whenever I can get something I'll test Phyx out. I don't have high hopes as their other products haven't impressed me in FCP X so far.
I did some training videos for their keyer suite of plugins, and have to say honestly that the built-in FCP X keyer was much faster, easier, and more powerful. I've tried an SD to HD converter they made, which I don't think they sell any more. It totally sucked. So it will be interested to see what Cleaner does, if anything at all.
Shame, too, cause in legacy FCP their plugins were pretty amazing. They keyer was one they wrote for Shake originally. I guess X changed the game for lots of folks.

Thank you again Ben.
That was for PHYX Keyer 3, and I honestly agree with you that the FCP X keyer was better than PHYX Keyer at that time in FCP X. However, that is no longer the case with PHYX Keyer 4.
Our main issue with FCP X was it's lack of support for Dynamic UI, which our plugins depend on. So we were forced to essentially chop-apart our plugins to work as well as possible in FCP X without Dynamic UI, which was frustrating and disappointing because every other host fully supported our plugins. Apple added support for Dynamic UI late last year.
Since then, PHYX Cleaner 2 and PHYX Keyer 4 have both been completely rebuilt for Final Cut Pro X. All new controls with full Dynamic UI makes us very very happy.
You can download the latest build of PHYX Keyer 4 here: PHYX Keyer 4.0.1

Thank you for saying this.
We have appreciated your support and feedback.

Please try the following:
1) Launch Final Cut Pro X
2) Bring up the Preferences window
3) Switch to the Playback section, and disable the "Background render" option
If that does not work, please:
1) Launch the FxFactory application
2) Select the "Show Diagnostic Reports in Finder" command under the "Actions" menu
3) Email these to: feedback (at) phyx.biz
Also, I'd just like to add, we are always working to improve our products. If you have any suggestions for specific improvements, please email those to the address above as well. In fact, several of Ben Balser's suggestions have made their way into PHYX products and we are grateful for that

I try to denoise the same exact clip in both programs, same settings…. FCPX is twice slower in final render times than AE CS 6 !
Why is that ?
