Help! Compositing was created by Mcportlqnd
I was wondering if anyone could offer me some help? I am new and green to Final cut.

Basically I have 2 clips I am overlapping. 2 images of the same person just one a younger version and one of the same person in older make up. I wanted to have the clip start young and blend over the length of the clip to the older person. I know how to change the compositing levels, I just dont know how to do it over the length of the clip, so it starts at 0 and ends at 100% and blends evenly over the clip?

is there an easy way to do this other then trying to split the clips 100 times and changing each one manually? But doing that it will be super choppy.

Any help or advise is appreciated! Thank you!

Super easy. You're adjusting opacity ov the top clip. If you zoom in to the beginning of the top clip, you should see a round "handle" on the video portion. Drag it to the right.

OR, apply a Cross Disolve transition to the start of the top clip. Adjust it's duration to be the length you desire.

As a trainer, I'd also highly recommend you get either one of Apple's authorized training courses. The "Apple Pro Training Series: Final Cut Pro X" book, or Ripple Training's FCP X video training. Both are hands on, and the best training anywhere. It'll get you up to speed very quickly and easily.

I also wanted to highly recommend, if you're brand spanking new to FCP X, the two best training resources around. Either will get you up an running great.

The book from Peachpit Press, "Apple Pro Training Series: Final Cut Pro X" Or the video training for FCP X from Ripple Training. Both are hands-on, guiding you through exercises, and giving some really good advice.
