Shortcuts for clip height

In the event browser we can use CMD +/- to make the clips bigger / smaller.
In the project window CMD +/- zooms in/out in time (makes bigger / smaller horizontally.
Is there a short cut I'm missing to make the clips in the project taller / smaller so I can easily zoom in to a wave form without having to open that horrible popup dialog from the bottom? I've been looking and looking and can't find one.

Bottom right, menu button looks like a wrench.

Not that I've been able to find. I really wish there was one though. It's where I find the most frustration with X is in timeline manipulation.
Best solution is to use the Roles to minimise certain tracks while leaving others expanded.

Can you be more specific? Maybe I missed a page in manual here ...... < dives in to the manual again >....

In the area left of the timeline (I can never remember what it's called) go to the tab that has Roles.
Now if you've been diligent and labelled your audio tracks accordingly you can choose to minimize different roles. So often I'll minimize my Effects tracks while I work on my Music tracks and visa versa.
It doesn't work well with expanded tracks from their video parents as it only removes the waveforms but sometimes this can be handy too.
I really wish I could toggle waveforms and clip frames on and off instead of having to choose from those stupid presets.

Right. There's the problem. I'm trying to zoom in on some waveforms that are part of video clips rather than external audio.
Sigh. This is one of the major issues I'm having with FCPX and it's slowing me down!
Another one is zooming in to / out from the project timeline without the playhead disappearing off the left of the screen. It would be really handy if it could centre (or maintain position of) the play head when zooming in/out instead of choosing some seemingly random position where you have to go searching for it!
Again, am I missing anything here?

Not as far as I'm aware. I've mapped zoom in and out on to my mouse and it drives me crazy as to how random FCP X is at picking my target.
I drive the timeline really hard with FCP 7. Have lots of view presets, mapped keys for toggling all kinds of info, dedicated mouse buttons for zooming, locking tracks etc as well as 20 dedicated interface buttons for changing render setting markers collapsing and uncollapsing etc.
The FCP X timeline is great with its magnetic mode, connected clips, smart keyframing and compacted multitrack audio but the rest of it is a real chore to use.
