Making changes from clip in Event Viewer update in the storyline?

I'm sure this has been asked before, but I'm curious about how to accomplish it: I'd like to make changes (mostly visual but also to the audio) to a clip in an event and have any clips that use that clip in the main storyline be updated.

Say I'm half-way through editing a storyline and would like to add an overlay to some clips. I can either drop that in every single clip in the storyline, or I can edit the original in the event and have it updated on each instance of that clip in the storyline.

I hope I made sense there...

This is the way compound clips work since the 10.0.6 update.

Select a clip you'll want to modify in multiple places in a timeline or in multiple projects, right- or control-click it and choose New Compund Clip and enter a name. The new compound clip will appear in your default event. Any changes made to that compound clip from now on will be reflected everywhere the cc is used.

Got it. Hadn't even thought of that, but it's perfect. Once I've sync'd my audio/video clips I can make a compound clip from that.

I use your adjustment layer overlay all the time on projects by the way. Thanks!!!

The other way I guess is to use copy and paste attributes in conjunction with the timeline list.
