Hi,
I'm exporting parts of my fcpx timeline in chunks to work with in motion and I'm selecting ranges and exporting. What's annoying is that the range selector tool doesn't seem to snap in the timeline so I have to zoom right in to make sure I'm not missing a frame which often causes the selection to reset when I try to drag the handle. Is there something I'm missing to turn on snapping for the range selector? (tried the standard snapping and it doesn't seem to have any effect).
I am seriously loving the keyer in fcpx, though. A joy to use.

Yes, you do need to be zoomed in enough for your mouse to get accuracy. That's a computer screen issue.
Try using I and O to create In and Out points instead for that type of accuracy. Moving the playhead by clicking on a spot in the timecode ruler, adjust with the JKL keys if needed, fine tune with left/right arrow keys, can be very fast and surgically accurate.
