I have a 22 minuts film, shot in 24mbps. Some NeatVideo and Motion 5 adds to timeline.

When trying to share the file, Master File and first uncompressed 10-bit and then UC 8-bit, FCPX stopped sharing after 12%.

I´m on a Macbook Pro, 8GB 1600 MHZ DDR, 2.5 GHz, Intel Core i5.

When I was half way there editing the movie I tried uncompressed 8-bit. 90 GB went fine. Done sharing after 20 minutes.

This time it tok about 10 minutes to reach 12%, only to stop responding.

Any clue?

Uncompressed 10 Bit HD?

You realize that your file size will be well over 250 GB?

Why not just create a master file using the codec it's edited in? Namely ProRes.

I know, but someone told me uncompressed was better then compressed. I also was told that ProRes was a not a deliver product, but a codec you use if you´re not finished.

But after googling, I found out that there is almost none difference between ProRes and UC 10-bit.

So I went for ProRes.

I can argue that there is no "delivery" codec. Many places accept ProRes files. You won't get much better quality.

Back in the early days compression was pretty nasty and uncompressed was the way to go for broadcast. Now compression has come a very long way. Look at cable TV, digital cable streams MPEG-2 which is mega, super compressed. Full resolution H.264 is fantastic for delivery.

Stick with this forum kid, we'll take good care of you.
