Multicam Match Frame
It appears that once you've edited the multicam, you can't apply stabilisation to any of the 'cuts', only to the long source clip as a whole (which for various reasons is not going to work).
This can be got around by blading the source multicam at the appropriate places, so you're only stabilising the bits you really need, but I can't find a way of doing a match frame to get back to the right point in the source multicam. (In Premiere Pro you can do a shift-T to get to the right place in the multicam source).
While I can select the 'cut clip' and hit shift-F, it highlights the in/out in the event browser and there seems no way to show this within the multicam compound clip instead, so that I can accurately blade there.
Any suggestions for easy workarounds? It looks like I've got 20-30 of these to do and it's going to be a major PITA!

Then I create the multicam clip.

Besides, it also takes forever to stabilise that much, especially when it's not needed. Stabilising footage you never use (because it didn't make the cut) bogs things down.
Just like color, I'd rather only do the bits I need, hence the need to go back and find 3 or 4 seconds of footage that 'did' make the cut within the multicam source.

The best solution I have come up with so far is to copy all the tracks from the source multicam in to the edited multicam project. Place them above the cut multicam clips and disable them. When I find something that needs stabilising I can blade around the appropriate track, enable it, stabilise that section only and move on.
This means I only ever need to go through the 87 minutes of 'cut' clips and FCPX only needs to analyse tiny sections that are actually needed.
Once completed I can delete the unused parts of the superimposed tracks and move the stabilised clips down to the main story line.
If any one has a faster / better way, please let me know!

Right click and select "open in angle editor" this will take you to your multicam clip at the exact point. If for some reason it doesn't, open the Angle Editor, go to settings and turn on Timecode. This will show you where you need to go in the Multiclip.
Get out the Blade tool.
Blade your clip where you want stabilisation to start and finish.
Select section.
Open inspector and apply Stabilisation.
Go back to your Project.

That was my expectation of the workflow, but alas it doesn't seem to be working like that. My playhead is never on the frame I was on (either with playhead or skimmer) in the edit. In fact, it always opens up at the place the playhead was last at within the angle editor.

Another nice try
Timecode in sequence, 00:59:13:14.
Timecode in the angle view starts at 14:15:34:19
But that's OK because I changed the start timecode of the project to the same and that works.... even though I have to note down two lots of timecode and enter them manually
Thanks Seanus!

I've just tried it and it work perfectly.
Remember your a blading the Multicam Clip not the project

Shame they don't have a Shift-T like Premiere that puts the playhead right on the frame

Dave_EP wrote: Yes. That was always the plan - to cut in the angle viewer and only stabilise the small section I needed.

Time to send some feedback me thinks.

If you (mistakenly) put a reject flag on the multi cam clip in the event browser, when you right click in the project and try open in the angle viewer it doesn't open the right multicam.
One of the guys did that here today and it had me going for a while!
