Audio boost bug?

Hello

I am wondering if anyone is experiencing and odd bug whereby the audio randomly becomes loud at random positions in a cut. I am experiencing this is in a series of short multicam edits that include 2 camera positions as well as one audio master track (multitrack DAW recording mixed down). I used audio to sync the 2 camera angles and master audio track, then dropped the audio levels on the 2 camera tracks/roles to 'off', leaving the remaining master audio track as is. One would think that would do it,well recorded audio....2 camera angles..cut,cut.cut. but it's not the case in this situation.
Upon playback everything will play back correctly the first time, next time it might also but then every once in a while (1 in 5) the audio portion plays back quite loudly sending the vu meters into the critical zone. The only way to remedy the loudness is to stop play back and start playback again. It's almost as if the audio from the 2 camera angles is turning on and off on it's own.....but their levels have been set to 'off'. Odd.

If anybody has any insight on this issue it would be greatly appreciated.
