Hi guys,

Been working on a long edit (01:47min) with multiple clips.

In order to use the edited clip in other projects, I have selected all clips and created a compound clip. I copied it into another project (same event) and closed FCPX.

Came back to render the project today, and noticed the compound clip is giving me the RED MEDIA thumbnail. When I try to relink the project media, it says the drive that contains the media is not connected or can not be found.

The original clips inside the compound clip are all there. But the compound clip is missing from the event folder, and is not an alias in the original media folder.

Where are the compound clips referenced?

Project was started in 10.0.6 and upgraded recently after the edit to 10.0.7

Any suggestions?

Thanks

If you break the compound clip apart, are all the parts there? Perhaps it's an anomaly going between the versions, and simply breaking it apart and creating a new compound clip will shake it loose.

Also make sure there are no filters on that compound clip that may have been made redundant.

Here's my version of desilva's problem:

Last night I completed my final trims on a project, and began color grading. I made a compound clip of a series of cuts on the same clip, in order to color grade them simultaneously. Everything was great. I waited 'til the render was done, previewed, liked what I saw, quit FCPX 10.0.6, and went to bed. This morning, I wake up, and that compound clip shows the dreaded red screen for "missing clips." (It's actually just one clip with multiple cuts."

Here's the perplexing part: nothing shows missing in the event browser; no little yellow triangle, However, when I select "Reveal in event browser" on the compound clip in the timeline, it's not there. When I double click on the compound clip, nothing expands.

I could easily re-cut this, but I need to understand what's happening. Help?
