There are no THM files with the MK III. Timecode reads perfectly in FCP 7 as well.

Anyway I really wish Canon would get off their ass and start supporting their DSLR with FCP X

For now I use Magic Bullet Grinder to get around the issue.

How does FCPX / Grinder deal with the creation date issue in thumbnail mode?

While we've transcoded (with timecode) from various cameras, including the 5D3, FCPX doesn't seem to have the ability to sort on timecode only in thumbnail mode, just 'creation time'. Once transcoded, the creation time becomes the time the transcoded file was created, not the original media, so getting the correct shooting time for multiple cameras and have them sequenced correctly in thumbnail mode is not (or does not seem) possible, whereas in the column view you can choose the timecode to sort on.

Am I missing something here?
