XMPILOT and FCPX

I am testing out Sony's new awesome XMPILOT meta data tool but I can't see my tagged markers in the clip in FCPX. Does anyone here know if XMPILOT works with FCPX at all???

What solved your problems? Others may run in to this same thing.

Here's the workflow:

When importing XDCAM fra XDCAM browser make sure to check "Create XML file when importing" in Preferences under the FCP tab.
Now when you want to import your material into FCPX don't do a "import file" import, but instead do a "Import XML" from the File menu. FCPX now imports the clips to a new event and your clips now hold all your tagged meta-date.
From here on the metadata will follow the files where ever they go: a new event, a project etc.

This is truly an amazing tool and a feature I hope will dominate productions in a very near future. It is going to make things SO much faster in the future.

As I understand Phillip Hodgetts is alwo working on a similar tool and I am really looking forward to checking this out as well......until then: SONY's XMPILOT TRULY ROCKS!!!

I've never looked at it. I wonder how it compares to FCP X's built in metadata tools?

The point in this is you already start tagging your clips when recording a scene thus eliminating A LOT of work in post.
