I have paid for FCPX, and now I need to reinstall my Mac to get back to Lion.

I don´t want to pay or FCPX more than once, so how do I reinstall FCPX when my Mac is "new" again?

Log in the Mac App Store with the account you used to buy FCP X. Go to purchases, click on re-install.

You must drag your FCPX application to the trash first

Why do I have to do that?

If the App Store sees FCP X already in your Applications folder, it won't give you the option to Install. There is not a "Re-Install" button. The only three states of the button are Install, Download, or grayed out and reading Installed.

Move it to the trash, launch the App Store, in the Purchases tab the button will have changed from "Installed" to "Install".

So App store can see that I have paid for it?

Yes, your App Store ID is embedded into it. Any computer you own, you can log in to the App Store with you iTunes/App Store account, and install any app you've paid for with that account.

After installing Mountain Lion, the battery runs out really fast. But going back to Lion is beyond my technical know-how.

Thanks, anyway!

That's odd. I get great battery life with ML on both of my laptops. May be something else.

Charging battery takes approx. 1 hour longer, and I have about half battery with ML compared to L.
Have no idea how to fix it. Reboot, spotlight, time machine. Don´t know what to do... After googling I´m not the only one with battery problems.

Most ML battery life issues were resolved with the release of 10.8.2. If you are still on 10.8.0 or 10.8.1 a software update might resolve your battery life issue.

I have the latest 10.8.2. Still reduced life time.

So if I buy another Mac, and want FCPX on this one, I get the "re-install" option since the new Mac doesn't have FCPX installed?
Or do I have to buy one FCPX for each computer?

Open the App Store application, sign in to your account, go to the Purchases tab, install. No re-purchase, as previously stated.
