I've just experienced some major problems with my project and was praying I could use a back up file to fix it. When I tried to open the back up file, it said to open the file in FCPX. The back up file initially read 1:15 which would save me, but now it reads 1:26 which will do the opposite. How do you actually open the back up file - in the event folder? thx

Move either the project backup or the event backup into the top level of the project or event folder where currrentversion now resides. You can move the currentversions into a separate folder to hide them form FCP. The application will read the first .fcpevent or .fcpprojecty in the event or project folder. (This may have been broken in 10.0.6. I haven't tested it recently.)

Well that didn't work. The problem is that a lot of my interview clips became unavailable and/or lost their audio - also my compound clips. When I go to relink them I get this message:
"The original file didn't have audio, but the new file does.
Relinked files must have the same media type, same frame rate, and similar audio channels as the original files, and must be long enough to cover all the clips that reference the files."
The files are red at the bottom in the browser and black at the top, but when I try to open them, the system crashes. When I try to reimport them, nothing happens. The clips are there in the Original Media folder, but I cant figure out how to get them back. Any ideas? thx
