I just stumbled across an "SLR" effect in FCPX, I'm sure I never seen it there before. Does anyone know when it showed up?

I think that's always been there. I seem to remember finding it some time ago. If I'm wrong, then it is one of the new templates added in the 006 upgrade. AFAIK the 006 upgrade is the only one so far to include new templates.

I think it's a new one, I just went through a pile of old screen shots I used to create instructional pdf's. I found one where the "Effect Browser" is at that position, the screen shot came from FCPX 10.0.4.
The "SLR" effect wasn't in the list, either was the "Soft Focus" effect.

SLR is new. Soft Focus I don't have so I'm guessing is third party.

I just looked Tom. It turned out I had made it for something I must have been doing at some time, it's just a quick publish of the "Motion 5" "Soft Focus" effect parameters.

The Soft Focus you mean. The SLR is a neat effect if you need that still snap effect, especially with a little animation, bring into focus, close and open the shutter.
