Haven't been able to find any decent unbiased/in depth reviews of these plugins. They seem tempting has anyone really given these a go?

I purchased the Pixel Studios TRANSHIVER transitions and PROSHIVER effects. I've used them in two productions so far. They seem decent. Not sure which Pixel Studios plugins your interested in.

I got ProGrade, ProFlare, ProLens and ProTrace and find them to be excellent. And super fast. No need to render for previews, great controls and of course with the FCP.co discount they were amazingly priced.
I'm very happy.

They've just released ProSlice AND ProMask for only $29.95!
Great looking features. Fantastic price theses guys are doing it right IMHO.
The others can learn from them.

Their protrace plugin sets are excellent.
I got prolens during the promotion. Haven't got a chance to really use it though

I bought ProSlice and ProMask but they were both a bit of a let down.
ProMask is basically an 8-20 point garbage matte while the ProSlice is actually very nice but clunky as hell to use and slower than a wet weekend.
Oh well. 4 out of 5 isn't too bad.

I got the ProShiver pack when it they had a discount.
It had a problem though, insofar as the plug-in did not install properly and not all of the overlays were present in FCPX (about a 3rd were missing I think).
I emailed them and they said they would send me instructions on how to reinstall the plug-in. But they never did contact me again.
The parts of the plug-in that are present seem to work well enough though.

How fast is PROMASK (I think the official name is in all caps!)?
When I made my 16-point mask effect in Motion for Final Cut, I thought adding any more points would make it too slow for most users.
Are the individual mask points keyframable, because that would mean using an FxPlug (a non-Motion created plug-in as seen in CoreMelt's SliceX), which should be much faster than other masks.

It's pretty fast on my aging MacPro. And yes all points are keyframeable.

It helps if you have proxy media and apply effects to your footage after you have sliced them. Hopefully that helps

Liking what I'm seeing and reading. Now if they can create a decent extruded text plugin I'd be all in.

In case you haven't seen it, you could try my extrude plugin at
alex4d.wordpress.com/2012/07/19/extrude-free-fcpx-effect/
If you also want to rotate your type in 3D, take a look at
alex4d.wordpress.com/2012/08/29/rotate-extrude-fcpx-effect/
That should tide you over until PROEXTRUDE comes out.
