How to Capture from DVR in FCPX was created by mliebergot
I recorded one of our doctors visit on the Dr. Oz (via Comcast DVR box) show last week, and was curious as to how I can capture video from my Comcast DVR in FCPX?
Can this be done via HDMI? I have both BlackMagic Intensity Pro and Radeon 550HD graphics card HDMI ports available.
Also I noticed that FCPX seems to capture video from my webcam as AIC. Is there a way to tell FCPX to capture in ProRes with 48k audio?
Thanks for the help,
Michael

You won't have "deck control" over the Comcast box, but you may be able to connect the HDMI directly to your BM Intensity. The only wrinkle is that the Comcast box may put out a signal with HDCP (content protection) and your Intensity may not like it. There are various cracks on the Internet to bypass HDCP (analog path, DVI and splitting off audio signal to analog etc.)
Have you tried hooking up your box to the Intensity?
