Cannot send to vimeo was created by Betancourt
I'm trying to upload my videos to vimeo from the share button inside fcpx 10.0.6, but when I try to sign in, i get a "couldn't connect to the server" message. My vimeo account is working OK in Safari.
Any help appreciated,
Many thanks

That error message is the result of the app timing out while waiting for the Vimeo servers to respond to its request. I'm not sure, that is very odd...

In fact it doesn't seem to be really waiting for the server because the error message appears pretty soon

I haven't tried sharing to Vimeo in 10.0.7, but it may be a bug. It would be worth trashing your FCPX preferences and trying again.

The best way In my opinion is to use Compressor then upload the usual way. I always use this method and it never fails

Or you can just export from FCPX saving the file as a QuickTime movie to your desktop, then upload it as you would any file.

I don't need to go to compressor, I can export from fcpx as mp4 and then upload to vimeo. Compressor run pretty slow in my system, and many times it freezes. I was just wondering why cannot connect to vimeo servers from fcpx.
Thanks anyway

You say you do not need go to Compressor. FCPX sharing is not perfect. Why should you not try trusted method if you really want to upload to Vimeo ?

I'm sorry Makki if I sound rude! I hardly talk and write in English. Wasn't my intention at all.
The reason I don´t like to use compressor, that seems to be a very good, trusted option for you; is that it runs very slow and it´s very buggy for me. Spinning ball and freezing are very common while working with it. It also means that you need to use a second software, eating your RAM, and in most cases you need to wait to do something else. So I find that exporting from fcpx is much simpler, faster and reliable. The only thing that is not working is the direct upload to vimeo from inside fcpx. So I´m doing exactly what you do from compressor, export and then upload the usual way, but from fcpx.
I'm using compressor 4.0.5 on a macbook pro 17" 8gb RAM Intel core i7.

Compressor doesn't use much RAM, but the read/write operations do eat up some hard drive data pipe bandwidth.

Hell, I know a lot of Americans who can't speak or write English properly or clearly, either. Don't sweat the language barriers. I often encounter these with other native English speakers. HA!
