SD card won't eject in Final Cut X 10.0.6 or 10.0.7

When I installed the first version of Final Cut X my SD card would not eject when FCX was finished importing. The only way I could get it to eject was to shut down FCX. One of the updates (10.0.2 or 3) seemed to fix the problem but since I installed 10.0.6 its back and if I try and eject it I get the message " The disk could not be ejected because Final Cut Pro is using it ". I have today installed 10.0.7 and its not fixed.

I am using a 2011 iMac and inserting the SD card in the iMac's SD card slot.
I dont have this problem with Lightroom as Lightroom automatically ejects the card ok.

Does anyone else have this problem or a fix for it.

Thanks

It works for me, and I have been using a 2011 iMac, you have to eject the SD card from the FCP X import window and not the finder. Hope this helps

Have been trying to eject the SD card from the desktop icon like I've always done, as I had the media import window ' Close window after starting import ' checked.
However I have just tried to eject a card from the media import window. All that happens is that the video previews go black but the card does not eject.
I then go to the desktop icon and try to eject from there and get the " The disk could not be ejected because Final Cut Pro is using it " message.

I close down FCX and try again and it ejects.

uncheck the close import window after import. Just to make sure, are you pressing the eject icon beside SD card name in the import window? The card should disappear from the window after a few seconds.

Hmm I just checked again that this works and it does for me, I wondering if you have some other program that accesses the SD card.

I have unchecked the box so the window does not close, I waited till the file was downloaded and the rendering was complete but it will not eject.

I am going to try completely uninstalling FCX and then re download and install 10.0.7, see if that fixes it.

Have you tried resetting prefs for FCP X using prefs manager from digital rebellion and fixed permissions using disk utility?

Wildgiles, I have just realised you are the same person as on the Apple forum. I appreciate your input and hopefully a reinstall will fix it.

In an attempt to fix this I deleted FCX from my iMac and downloaded and reinstalled a new copy of 10.0.7.
It has not fixed the problem, FCX still holds on to my SD card. I am not editing from the card, I am copying the contents of the card to the events folder. I wait until the copying is complete before I try and eject. It will not eject from the Finder, from the desktop icon or from the FCX import window as I get the message that FCX is using the card.
I have tried using an external card reader connected to one of the USB ports instead of the card reader on the iMac, same problem.
This must be something connected with FCX as Lightroom ejects my cards ok.
I have also reset the FCX preferences but no effect.

This might depend on the type of media on the card. The card should only show up in the camera heading. I've been using media from camera's that creates h264 MOV files. Someone has been posting that AVCHD and XDCAM formats don't let you eject from the import window.

My guess is that we will be waiting for updates that will fix the import eject media issues. I can tell that the import window is still in early development anyway.

I have been importing .MOV video from a GH3 and prior to that AVCHD from a G5. The AVCHD card ejected ok prior to version 10.0.6.
Thanks for your input, look like I will have to live with this, though cant understand why most others don't have this issue.

I have the same issue, and I have Lightroom and Canon utilities installed. I bet you it some sort of conflict.
