I´m making some kind of a film for christmas, and for intro I want something to do with christmas. Maybe a gift being wrapped up.

But how to a make an intro besides the one already in FCPX?

What intro already inside FCP X? No clue what that is referring to.

How do you make an intro? First, write a script. Seriously, you may have to shoot footage, maybe create graphics, etc, then edit it all together. I'm not really sure what the meat of this question is.

AAAAhhhh! You mean the title templates created in Motion 5? Those? You create and modify those in Motion 5. Buy it, learn it, it's fun. It has some templates inside of it that you can easily modify all you want.

Yep, something like that. Like the splash-ink in "titles" in FCPX.

And like the Universal-intro(the Earth). I want to make my own.

By the way, why do I need Motion, besides to create and modify like you are explaining?

The splash ink title in FCPX uses camera motions in 3D space. That's what makes it so dynamic & exciting. It's a template that was created in FCPX's sister program called Motion.

If you want to create something equally dynamic with your subject being a Christmas gift, you would want to do that in Motion, save it as a template that can be used in FCPX.

The advantages of Motion's creative palette are extensive, beyond just the 3D components. For instance, after doing all the work in creating the template, you could add various types of backgrounds, bows & wrapping papers. This way your final gift template could be appropriate not only for Christmas, but also birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, etc.

Motion is a powerful program that works alongside FCPX. There are many tutorial videos on this site & elsewhere, that you will find helpful. Ben actually teaches both of these programs.

Negauh, you are a lot like me, I'm often finding my creative vision far exceeds my technical knowhow, thus my choices are to either go slower & learn the basics or return to hiring others to try & express what I'm seeing. The former appeals more to my heart, but not my patience.

Presently I'm forced to learn one thing at a time, current projects are mastering my camera & FCPX, while occasionally dabbling in Motion. All around mastery will take time. The good news is, the fine folks at Apple have made wonderfully powerful programs that are the most intuitive & easiest to learn, & all our new friends here at FCP.co are so generous with their time & experience, that our journey of discovery is a joyful one.

In a way... it's another gift.

By the way, why do I need Motion

You could create something like this:

Add some of your own pictures and camera movement in 3D space to it, and you can create some nice christmassy theme. No Photoshop? GIMP is free, Pixelmator is 20 bucks or so.

Motion is a beautifully versatile software that is, for this genre, pretty fast to learn.

Have made something else with text and lights. I´ll try to post it here when I get a Youtube account.
