How can you fit an hour on to 1 DVD? was created by cockneyjay
I'm making a short film and after editing one 2 minute section of it and optimising it, it seemed to take up much more of a DVD that I expected 2 minutes to take.
How can I make it so that 1 hour - 90 minutes of footage can fit on to 1 DVD much like a feature film would. I don't want to have 10 DVD's to show one short film lol.

You know that a DVD has a much lower bitrate than ProRes? Share your work to DVD, and you see that it'll magically fits.
You get about 1hr. 57min onto a DVD (that's been my limit with FCP X).

I've been using Toast to do this for years, throw the file at it and it will compress to fit. Not much control over the quality settings but if it's just for SD playback/approval that usually isn't a biggie
