I know i must be overlooking something but i cant seem to find it...I've cut video in FCPX in multicam mode before and its been great.

I filmed a video with 3 angled and one external audio source earlier today, i imported the clips and selected all of them...I right clicked and made a new multi cam clip.

When the multicam clip is selected in the browser it allows me to click on the angles in the angle viewer...when i click down on the mtulicam clip on the timeline this changes and it doesnt allow me to click anything once i start playing the multicam in the timeline. It wont let me click between the clips and cut between the angles.

Its very strange, any tips?

Thanks

Post a screen shot of your timeline and angle viewer.

You have editing the multi cam clip into a project?

I had the multi cam in a timeline but the problem was i had the actual multicam clip opened up in the timeline, showing all the differnt angles and audio source. It wouldnt let it play and cut until i backed out of it and had just the mutlicam clip itself on the timeline.

But was the multicam clip edited into a project? You can view all kinds of things in their own timelines. Composite clips, synchronized clips etc.

you have to go back to your timeline to edit, on the small white arrow on the right hand side on top of the timeline(project) window

you are in angel editor mode, thats why you can't edit ;)

Thats exactly right!

haha, well thanks for the help guys. This was at 4am after shooting all day by the way...clearly not the best time to be doing something for the 2nd or 3rd time.
