Multicam Clip naming was created by Marc Lucas
Went through all my 8 tracks (4 video & 4 Audio) and named them in the Inspector before I made a MC Clip. I selected dual mono for all the audio tracks both on the video clips & audio tracks and named them individually. After I synced the MC clip the names of the Cameras & Angles where intact however when I had a look at the audio sections of the clips there names had changed from what I originally put to i.e a1 & a2 OR mono 1 & mono 2
This hasn't happened on some of the tracks just a few. I think if you uncheck one of the split mono tracks prior to making the MC and don't name it then it defaults to a1 & a2 etc but on some of the video tracks with audio I clearly labelled both split monos

Yes, this is how it works. Anything that renames one channel, will cause all channels to rename. Hopefully this will be refined in the future. I don't do final configure my channels until after I create the Multiclip.
