Not able to switch project to SD?

In the past, when doing commercial work, I'd create two versions of each commercial. I edit the project in HD, duplicate the project, change the new copy to SD, then go in and adjust any framing and the like to make an SD version for delivery.

As a matter of fact, I did this process earlier today in 10.0.6 without a hitch.

But for some reason, on the current project I'm working on, FCP no longer gives me the option for the SD project presets (see image).

Does anyone know what could be holding FCP back from allowing me to make this change?

That is odd..seems like a corrupt preference file in FCPX. Try trashing your preferences using Digital Rebellions free "Preferences Manager" and then restart your computer. See if the option for NTSC SD returns in the menu.

Creating history....one edit at a time !

I can't reproduce the problem. I get this

I think it has to do with the frame rate. It's set to 30p and should be 29.97p. You probably need to make a new project at the correct settings and then copy and paste everything in the current project to the project with the correct frame rate, and then try your duplicate project process.

I trashed preferences to no avail. But it was worth the shot.

I think Tom is correct. The frame rate was the culprit. FCP was only giving me the option to switch to other 30p presets.

I don't know if this is new behavior (I could swear that I've switched projects from 30p to 29.97i in past versions of FCPX... maybe I'm mistaken) - but this appears to be the way it works at this moment.

It's good to know, as many of my projects need to be available in 30 and 29.97 frame rates.

Thanks for the extra brain power, guys!
