Odd behavior of disabled Clips that have a Transition was created by bendermac
can someone please explain this too me...
when i add a transition and i disable the clip, the transition is still on and doesn't follow the clip disabling function of fcpx. is this normal?

I just tested this and as I expected this is a normal operation. The disable function applies to the clip being displayed and heard. It does not appear to have any effect on a transition since the transition is not a part of the clip, but rather blended into the clip.
Also, as long as the disabled clip remains in the timeline, it occupies space and the duration of the project will not change. When played back, the skimmer scrolls right across the disabled clip while muting the audio and blacking out the video.

A transition is filled end to end with media from clips on each side. Since the transition contains part of a clip that is not muted, it will play through the transition. Seems very logical.
