Resistance isn't Futile, it is voltage divided by current.

I just got a new MacBok Air and am planning (I hope) to install and run FCP X for use on the road.

According to Apple, FCPX is a valid application for the Macbook Air.
Below are the minimum specs for FCPX (and I do mean minimum, bare minimum). You'll want to increase ram from their minimum and the use of fast external drives to separate your projects and events from the internal OS drive will be a big boost for performance.

I know some one running FCPX on an Air. Yes, it runs. No, it's not very powerful. Only good for small projects with few events or projects. Even with a T'bolt drive.
