After upgrading to 10.0.6 is there any way to see how much estimated time is left on an export via FCPX share options? (background export).

Nope, it is and always has been a percentage estimate.

And...the process is not linear...so you cannot calculate the time for 1% and extrapolate an answer. (already tried that).

Creating history....one edit at a time !
