Is there anyway to perform an Insert between two connected clips which are connected to the Primary Storyline? I have tried to group the clips together in a Secondary Storyline but that does work either.

It works for me, you need to select the secondary story line (black shelf above) to insert into it.

Correct:-)

What I was doing was selecting the clips and selecting the edit point between them by using the \ key so I wasn't actually selecting the black bar above:-/

Thanks
