I would like to connect a name title to the secondary storyline and be able to move both parts together without having to make a compound clip???

You can only connect to the primary storyline. Everything has to be connected to the spine.

Thanks Tom,
But don't you think it would be useful?

That's what Compound Clips are for.

Thats the work around that I have undertaken, but I think it would be useful to not have to make a compound clip as it takes time to jump in and make changes every-time.

Making FCPX a bit more nodal would be a great feature enhancement.
It would be useful to connect things to a connected clip or secondary storyline.

Actually guys, I stumbled across this earlier this week and forgot about it until I read this discussion.
I routinely do what I call "checking out" of clips in the primary storyline. Otherwise called, "Lift from storyline" & "Overwrite to primary Storyline". I do this if I need to roll clips and don't want to disturb the connected material (VO, SFX, GRX). I lift the clip from primary, make my trim/roll and then push it back down. BTW, I'd love to see an OPT key command to have connected clips maintain their position when rolling.
ANYWAYS! The cool part...
You have a clip in the primary storyline with embedded audio and some connected audio (a sound effect for example).
Attach a connected clip that's the same length as the one in the primary storyline.
Now take your connected video clip and overwrite it to the primary storyline.
What seems to happen is that the embedded audio becomes separated from the original primary storyline clip, and any audio files connected to the original primary embedded audio are now connected to a NON-PRIMARY STORYLINE audio clip. See below:
You'll also notice that when the primary clip was overwritten, it duplicated the sound effect, and left one connected to the new primary, and the second connected to the ex-embedded audio.
You can nudge the clips numerically forward and backward and the connection sticks.
But if you try to grab the audio and move it, it will only move to the primary storyline.
It's clearly a bug, but it makes it seem at least possible that you could connect to connected clips/
