How to Synchronize 2 camera shoot with lots of clips? was created by bradywurtz
Here's my problem...
I went and shot a wedding with two cameras. Camera 1 was a wide shot up on the top of the balcony in the church. This camera is just one long clip so that's easy.
Camera 2 is where the problem is. Camera 2 just got a lot of good broll of the wedding. it would record for a good 20 seconds to get a nice shot, stop, then maybe start again about a minute later for another 20-30 second shot. All in all there's about 30 clips for camera 2.
How do i have FCP X synchronize these two cameras together easily?
i'm afraid it's going to think i have a 31 camera multicam setup and it's going to be impossible to get them all to sync and stay in line.
is there a special method of doing this?

You just be able to select them and hit synchronize. It should create a compound clip with all shots lined up.

Not necessarily...and more than likely the intent would be to create a multicam clip that can be cut between the two different angles. Depending on the camera, and whether or not timecode was synchronized between them, there will be various ways to get the audio from the cams to sync.
Select clip 1 and then command select clip 2 and choose to make multicam clip. In the resulting dialog, choose to sync by audio (least accurate but may be good enough). When the clip is created, drag to the timeline. Select the angle viewer and choose two views. Play the clip back in the timeline and the mouse pointer will change to a blade that you can click on each view to instantly switch (cut) to that view.
Be sure to select which cam's audio is to be used.
