FCP 7.03 does not work under Lion

Hi,

Upgraded yesterday to Lion, and since then my FCP7.03 does not start up anymore. It says 'PID: 478, Event: hang etc...' in the report section after a forced quit. I deinstalled FCP, en reinstalled it from DVD, did not solve the problem, strange thing is that the other FCS3 programs do run... Can anybody help me out, I got some work to do!

Make sure you run Software Update and have everything on your computer up to date. What make/model Mac is it? Remove all third party plugins.

It sounds like there is something going on with your system. Like BenB said, I would uninstall all of FCS3, remove all 3rd party plugins then reinstall. I am using the whole studio on my laptop with 10.7.1 with no issues except for one issue with CoreMelt's Lock and Load X. The rest of my plugins and the studio all works.

To remove FCS3 I would download the free FCS remover from digitalrebellion.com

I NEVER said uninstall anything!

I said "remove" all your third party plugins. VERY, VERY different process. Rarely is reinstalling Apple software ever actually needed. Very rare.

Backup third party plugins, delete from plugin folder, relaunch FCP.

Aside from Disk Utilities an Disk Warrior, and having minimum 15% free space on ALL connected drives.

FCS3 problems are mostly 3rd party plugins, not FCS3 itself, which is compatible with Lion. Just many of those plugins aren't.
