1 frame transition ?

It is a common technique i used to do (Avid - FCP) , a single frame dissolve (or soft cut) , but now in FCPX i cant find a way to do it. The minimum duration i can make is 3 frames... is it so ?
Or i am doing something wrong ?

Just tested this out, and you're correct. There is a minimum 3 frame duration on transitions. Wow. Feedback page time!

I think it's this way because the first and last frames are untouched; meaning they don't have any filters, behaviors, etc... added to them. Then the middle frame is where the action happens.

At least that's how to design transitions in Motion for FCPX.

This is something I've never thought about. How could there be any animation or semblance of a transition in one frame? I hate to have to open Premiere Pro to try it!

Make a solid white generator in a timeline. Make it one frame long. Photographers flash. You can see it plain as day.

A soft cut transition is normally relating to audio Don, and that "1 frame" audio transition is happening at a subframe level.
