3x Crash Service down fix - Remove Perian

I've been using FCPX since day one and noticed pretty quickly I had problems sharing directly from the application. I could export movies and then use compressor to get the desired result - but exporting to Apple TV using the share menu, for example, just never worked - ending in a 3X Crash Service Down Error (this is with 1080 50i HDV footage shot with a Sony Z1).

Upgrading to FCPX 10.0.1 I was eager to try out the advertised GPU accelerated export, only to find the same problem came up. I'd read that removing the 3vix component from the quicktime folder could help - but I didn't have that installed - so going for the next best thing, I went to system preferences and uninstalled perian.

That fixed things. Exported an Apple TV file straight from the project just now, no problem. Fast too. There's obviously a conflict somewhere and I'm not sure if it's FCPX or Perian but at least there's an easy work around and here's hoping it's resolved somewhere down the line by the powers that be. Anyhow, thought I'd post my findings here incase it helps anyone else.

Perish has had conflictsnseveral times in the past with legacy FCP versions, too. Not surprising.
