Hey guys, for some reason when I bring this clip into FCP it starts off working fine when i use overlay, however after it renders it is no longer visible.. anyone know a reason behind this?

that is the image clip, once again it works great when i first bring it in, but after a couple of minutes it no longer works...

Not sure what that means. Did you put in the timeline as a connected clip?
In the clip's info tab in settings view check the alpha handling.

yes put in the timeline over another clip.. and set blend mode to overlay

Do not set blend mode to overlay. If the video has an alpha channel, and alpha handling is correctly set in settings, you will get transparency.
