In this video (Link above) there are some sort of color explosion effects done on pedals of a flower which occur from 1:05 to about 2 minutes in the video. I am wondering if this was done with final cut and if not if it is possible to do in final cut. Thanks

It tells you in the video description how it was done:
"This is an experimental film made up of over 35,000 photographs. It combines an innovative mix of stop motion and live projection mapping techniques."
That's not post. If you were to do so, it would be easier in Motion/AE. You could give it a go by duplicating a shot of a flower against a neutral background, overlaying it on itself, keying the flower colour and using it as an image mask over particle explosions/other footage.
