Still images and Dissolve

Edited a Still image (graphic0 to overlay on top of a clip. When you edit it into the timeline what is the kind of container it is in (see pic) it appears as soon as I put a cross dissolve on it. I can then drag the clip out of the container but again if I put a transition on happens again. Problem is that I was trying to line up one of the edges with another clip but it I selected it and moved the still clip the clip moved and left the container and transition in place. (when using the position tool)
How can you mover still clips (with any transition attached?

You can't use a transition on a connected clip without using a secondary storyline (the container you're referring to). If you're just trying to do a cross dissolve and you don't want a secondary storyline, try keyframing the opacity on the still image.
