I have an event with about 500 clips of cars racing down a drag strip. I just need to quickly check on the footage that I have not used in the project(s) and wondered if there was a quick way to sift this in the Event.

So in summary I need to Right click "Display unused Footage/Media" and see everything that has not been put on a timeline. Does such a thing exist?

Thanks could you explain that further...sounds hopeful.

What I am after is a way to create a Smart Collection that will just look at all the clips in the event and leave out anything that has been used on timelines/projects.

I have never used smart collections before, but the range of things to sort by seems painfully limited - unless there is another option elsewhere. Especially for a App that is supposed to be about collecting and sifting data.

Can't be that hard to do - and is a must have for larger projects.

Fill out the feedback form. When enough people request it with justification, I'm sure it will show up.

Well the Timelline Index will Show the corresponding clips that are added to the timeline.
Haveing a smart list displaying or even away to filter out the clips are beeing used would be nice.

With a bit of knowledge of XML and maybe a little scripting you can use an event XML and project XML to compare.
