I've been asked to provide Japanese subtitles for the doco I'm working on. I've got a gun Japanese translator but haven't done subs in FCPX before
Anyone have any experience in this. Not urgent - November deadline

It depends on what your translator delivers.
Up to now importing things into FCPX is limited to clips and XML.
With my TitleExchange ( www.spherico.com/filmtools/TitleExchange/ ) there are some free tools. One of them is XTI. This allows to convert text based STL files into FCPX.
