AZERTY keyboard was created by Tom Wolsky
I need some guidance from French language users who work with AZERTY keyboards and FCPX. Does this work or will the application only work with a QWERTY keyboard? Are the keyboard shortcuts different, or the same just in different places. Is Cmd-Z undo regardless of where it is?
If you can only use a QWERTY keyboard, what for French language users do on a laptop?
Any guidance would be much appreciated.
Thanks very much.

Keyboard shortcuts are the same (cmd-z, cmd-q)
The place is less convenient than qwerty for edit shortcuts (insert, connect, append...) but they are the same ones.
You'll maybe have to set french language in system prefs so that hitting "a" don't write "q".

Thanks. Do you change the keyboard settings or the language for the whole system?

I don't see any way to set a AZERTY keyboard, but that may be because I don't have one.

It's not the language for the whole system, just an input setting for the keyboard to be recognized :
System Preferences >> International >> Input Menu >> Scroll Down and checkmark “French.” If you also checkmark “Show input menu in menu bar”, this will enable you to switch between languages on the top right of your screen.
And if you click on the flag, you can check "Keyboard viewer" to see your AZERTY keyboard in action.
