Randomly, only fade-in handle appears on audio clip, no fade-out handle

I don't know what I could have selected, or if it's a bug or what. Audio clips randomIy have only one fade-in handle, at the beginning of the clip, not a fade-out handle at the end. Some of the clips DO have both handles, but I can see nothing different in the two clips to explain why they are not the same. I downloaded a 30-day trial version of FCPX from App store almost a month ago. I decided to buy it the other day, thinking that glitch would clear up with the real version, but it hasn't.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks,
EarthGuest

I have an issue with the audio not cross fading with the effect. don't think its all of them though.
sorry no answer for you although I'm sure the smart guys might tell you to re install it and see hat happens..

I wonder if it could have something to do with my magic mouse. I'll check prefs on it. Don't understand, although I do understand reinstalls. I just hate to have to come down to that.
Thanks, Randy,

This is usually caused by the audio being extended beyond the video. To fix it, double click the waveform which will expand the clip. I'm willing to bet that the audio is extended beyond the video. You should be able to see the fade handles now, and trim it up if desired.

Why would the length change if you just dropping a clip in or cut a clip and put a dissolve in there?
