RE: Workflow adaptations, Archiving elements, Creating Title Versions, etc.

After seeing Michael Barnett's work at Sundance/Slamdance, and attending several years of NAB, here am I.

Perhaps it's because I'm only beginning my: workflow analysis/adoption/understanding... and because I was/am a Quantel, MediaComposer and Premiere editor, and because I never had the FC Seven version in use at all (only seen peers using FCP7 in ENG field production trials)... I'm wondering about most efficient workflow adaptations, creating customized title files and transitions, the use of keyed .eps (resolution independent) files, etc.

Also, the resident manner in which edited pieces and sources (i.e.: projects and clips, etc.) are archived locally is going to clog my workstation pretty quickly, as we're into terabytes of data already. I'd rather find a workflow with FCPX that allows me to "gather" all of the elements I'm using and file in one place, rather than have a "working" location for elements being used on the day, then a diff location for archive (+2 for offsite backup redundancy) Anyone perfected their workflow with the new FCPX

Film. Remember film? :D
(Beats a moviola or a Kem Flatbed anyday)

I would cover all of the tutorial, but it's woefully difficult to find other than this site and CreativeCow, etc., and most contain rudimentary introductions to embedded tools and useage familiarisations.

Any help, reference would be surely appreciated.

best,

I'm producing a 1+ hour tutorial for macProVideo on FCP X media management and workflow. I highly recommend Ripple Training's series on FCP X. I also have the following "Versioning" PDF instructions posted on my FCProXUniversity.com site.
www.fcproxuniversity.com/downloads/tutor...rsioning_Secrets.pdf

It's a very different way of working, based on digital assets, not on film cutting paradigms like legacy NLE's have continued for the last 40 years. Take the time to do the Ripple Training series for a really good foundation.
