DaVinci Resolve 8 & FCPX was created by mgreynolds
Anyone using DaVinci Resolve 8 with FCPX? I have used it on a few projects and love it. I've had some problems with it recently and it won't connect and import the FCPX XML correctly. Anyone have any luck?

Created an account just to answer this so I hope it helps! I had issues but then when in resolve and you are saving for FCPX, I had to select the other setting for FCPX, not the default. It defaults to one format, and I had to select the older one, my system isn't on so I can't be too specific, sorry! Before if I left it to save as whatever the default was, once I tried to open the XML in FCPX, it wouldn't link to the newly rendered files. It would just have the original ones still in timeline. Even after opening the one that had the (resolve) in the name.
Hope it helps, and sorry to be so vague, but it's a setting in the export to FCP box! Use the older version of the number it shows.

I'm actually trying to import into Resolve. Thanks for your help on the other end though. I've had that problem before and had to change the exported XML.

Been using the two a lot recently and think it is amazing. Apple and BMD have worked really well together to give us a super powerful color correction tool.
A couple of tips tho:
Your sequence shouldn't have any speed changes, compound clips, or Multicam clips (although I've heard the most recent version supports Multicam and compound clips now)
I use XML 1.0 upon export when going back to fcpx.
Also, resolve is really great if you have RED footage because you can grade the red raw files. Check out apple's white paper on the red workflow.
